HICKAM AIR FORCE BASE, Hawaii - Three HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopters and two HC-130P/N Hercules aircraft from the 920th Rescue Wing, Patrick Air Force Base participate in the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise July 17 through August 2nd in Hawaii.The HH-60Gs mid-air refuling capibility, shown here, provides reserve rescue crews with virtually unlimited range. The mission of the 920th is search for, locate and recover U.S. Armed Forces personnel during military operations. Their arrival at Hickam allows them to enter the exercise during the tactical phase where participants will transition into the execution of a warlike scenario consisting of unscheduled events where participants will have the opportunity to operate as they would during actual real world contingency or combat operations.
