Staff Sgt. Calvin Fleming, a health services management technician at the 920th Aerospace Medicine Squadron, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, was named the 920th Rescue Wing’s Airman of the Year for 2016. Fleming maintained more than 1,200 medical and dental records and directly supported pre- and post-deployment medical evaluations for 717 reservists from eight geographically separated units. He provided on-the-job training for two new personnel and helped facilitate more than 500 physical exams. As a Citizen Airman, Fleming pursued a project management degree and coached male youth recreation sports. He also earned 6 credits toward his Community College of the Air Force degree, served as the unit safety representative, and raised more than $6,500 for charity.
