April 21 marked a momentous occasion for the 45th Space Wing and 920th Rescue Wing mission partners at Patrick Air Force Base, Florida. The two Air Force wings signed a robust new support agreement.

Even though their missions are distinctly different, wing leaders from both units agreed that working together ensures they maintain the greatest Air Force in the world.

"I appreciate the close cooperation of the entire team," said Brig. Gen. Wayne R. Monteith, 45th Space Wing commander. "This is not an us against them or a them against us, this is a we, to get our two missions accomplished. I just want to thank our two teams for coming together and pushing this forward. … I’m thankful to have you all here as partners with our mission."

Col. Kurt A. Mathews, 920th Rescue Wing commander, echoed the general's sentiments. "We learned a lot about each other in this process," he said. "I know how much work you all put into this. We are really grateful."
