Wing hosts 4th Annual Rescue Feeds Food Drive
The 920th Rescue Wing's 4th Annual Rescue Feeds Food Drive is aiming to collect more than 3,000 pounds of nonperishable food and toiletries for the South Brevard Sharing Center Inc. by April 7.The unit has donated approximately 5,200 pounds of food and supplies since 2014 in an effort to support the local community, said Master Sgt. Aircraft maintenance crews swap out rescue choppers for combat ops

Air Force Reserve Pararescuemen or PJs from Portland’s 304th Rescue Squadron assisted in recovering a hiker who was declared missing October 25, 2016. Early October 26, 2016, a team of four PJs scoured steep rocky terrain near the Oregon-Washington border until nightfall with the assistance of volunteers, civil search and rescue teams, AT&T and Apple. Information was obtained to pinpoint the GPS coordinates for the victim, 31-year-old Melvin Burtch's, cell phone allowing searchers to navigate to the cell phone location. On Sept. 10, the 920th Rescue Wing bid farewell to a chief who had been with the wing since its inception. Chief Master Sgt. Phil Roe, most recently the chief enlisted manager and superintendent for the 920th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, retired after 36 years of service in the Air Force.
