PATRICK AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Citizen Airmen and family members gathered for the 920th Rescue Wing’s 6th Annual Community College of the Air Force graduation ceremony Dec. 2, 2017 at the base theater to honor this year’s 51 graduates stationed at Patrick Air Force Base, Florida.

Seventeen of the graduates walked across the stage to accept their diploma from Col. Kurt Matthews, 920th Rescue Wing commander. Each student received an associate in applied science degree in their respective field, while several students earned two.

“Balancing military duties, civilian jobs, family life and keeping up with your education is demanding,” Matthews said. “This event is to recognize the dedication of these outstanding Airmen and the sacrifices endured by their family members during the long nights spent studying.”

A total of 80 Airmen from the wing, including geographically separated units, received their associate’s degree from the Community College of the Air Force this year. Currently the wing has 206 students attending 64 different schools.

The Community College of the Air Force is a federally-chartered degree-granting institution that serves the United States Air Force's enlisted total force. We partner with over 108 affiliated Air Force schools, 82 Education Service Offices located worldwide, and more than 1,500 civilian academic institutions to serve approximately 300,000 active, guard, and reserve enlisted personnel, making CCAF the world's largest community college system.
