Colonel George E. Raeder, an air reserve technician, is the Mission Support Group Commander, 920th Rescue Wing, Patrick Air Force Base, Florida. He is responsible for managing a variety of functions supporting the 920th Rescue Wing's flying and rescue operations. These functions include security forces, civil engineering, personnel, logistics, communications, services and information management.
Colonel Raeder was born in Margaretville, New York on 27 June 1955. He entered the United States Air Force in May 1979, completed Officer Training School and was commissioned at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas on August 3, 1979. Colonel Raeder retired from the active duty Air Force in August 2001 and joined the reserve in March 2002.
