'Lone Survivor' rescue hero retires
305th Rescue Squadron aircrew hog tie Lt. Col. Jeff “Spanky” Peterson following his finis flight in the HH-60 at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., prior to his retirement Feb. 19. He had more than 3,000 flying hours in the HH-60, and his sendoff included the rescue tradition of painting his feet green and imprinting them on a ceiling tile in the heritage room here.
