DAVIS MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. --
Yesterday evening on November 14, Citizen Airmen from the 943rd Rescue Group returned from an approximately five month deployment to Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan.
During the deployment 943rd RQG aircrew, support personnel, and maintenance Airmen provided medical/causality evacuation utilizing pararescuemen aboard HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopters.
Family and friends greeted the 943rd RQG Airmen at the 943rd Maintenance Squadron Hangar, and the Arizona Patriot Guard Riders were also on hand to welcome home the Citizen Airmen from their deployment.
The 943rd RQG is an Air Force Reserve unit with a mission of organizing, training and equipping mission ready Citizen Airmen to perform personnel recovery operations worldwide.
The parent unit of the 943rd RQG is the 920th Rescue Wing located at Patrick Air Force Base, Fla.
