Air Force Reserve pararescueman from the 304th Rescue Squadron, Portland, Ore., are continuing to scour Oregon's highest mountain for a 59-year-old dentist from Salem who went missing Saturday.

Kinley Adams is believed to be an experienced hiker, and the Clackamas County Sheriff's office says optimism remains high that Mr. Adams is still alive and just in need of assistance.

The PJs and fellow rescue crews faced adverse weather conditions during Monday's search, including rain, wind, cold temperatures, low visibility and snow. Searchers also struggled in near white out conditions.

Adams registered in the Timberline Lodge climbing log to climb the Leuthold Couloir route and never returned.

Currently, two PJs are still searching alongside volunteer searchers from Portland Mountain Rescue, Mountain Wave Communications, American Medical Response Reach and Treat Team, and Hood River Crag Rats.

Two other PJs and one Combat Rescue Officer who started out on the SAR Saturday, had to return to the 304th to prepare for their upcoming deployment to the Horn of Africa to provide combat search and rescue support for the Combined-Joint-Task-Force Horn of Africa region.
