When a member of the wing staff has a question or needs assistance, they head to the commander's support staff, and more often than not, they get their answer with a smile. That's thanks to non commissioned officer in charge (NCOIC), Staff Sergeant Terrance Burt and his three-member support staff team.

Burt joined the Air Force in July 1996 and transferred to the 920th Rescue Wing as a traditional reservist in 2000. He is a knowledge operations manager by trade, climbing up through the ranks in the communication and information career field. As a knowledge operations manager, he specializes in records management, a key responsibility within the support staff. During his career, he has deployed twice; once in 2003 to Iraq and again in 2009 to the Horn of Africa.

Traditional reservists report to duty at their assigned unit for typically one weekend a month and two weeks throughout the year. Being a TR, Burt also maintains a civilian career as an electrical engineer, primarily designing and testing hardware components for a local engineering firm called Aeronix, based out of Melbourne, Fla. Despite both careers being different, his customer service skills permeate both, which he finds to be his biggest strength.

With a wide array of skills, an impressive amount of knowledge and leadership qualities that other Airmen strive to emulate, Burt represents the core values of the Air Force Reserve every day, truly shining as a Citizen Airmen. He loves the camaraderie that the Air Force stands for, and looks forward to being a part of it for many more years to come.
