The holiday spirit was in full effect here Friday December 3, courtesy of the Patrick Air Force Base Commissary.

Mr. Jerry Copenhefer, store director and team leader, brought gift certificates, coupon books and care packages for the 920th Rescue Wing Reservists.

"We realize that many reservists do not live near a commissary, so for those that commute, we want to make it worth their while to stop by the commissary and save at least 30 percent on their grocery expenditures," said Mr. Copenhefer.

The PAFB Commissary uses the coupon books to reach out to different sections of their customer base - in this case, the Airmen at the 920th RQW.

"We're all one team here at Patrick Air Force Base. Helping one another, especially during the holidays, fulfills the wingman concept and continues to strengthen the bridge between the civilian workforce, Active Duty and Reserve," said Colonel Robert Dunn, 920th Rescue Wing Commander.

The base commissary echoed the colonel's sentiments as working together is what Mr. Copenhefer has in mind for the future.

"We are going to coordinate our monthly sidewalk sale with the 920th's drill weekend so the Reservists can take advantage of the deals," he said.

The commissary's big-tent case lot sale will be held on the drill weekends of May 7-8, 2011 and September 10-11, 2011.

"We often say we serve the most deserving and anything we can do to help them, we will!" said Mr. Copenhefer.

The 920th RQW is a combat-search-and-rescue wing with 1,500 Airmen in a variety of capacities who support its mission of saving lives. It's one of the most deployed Reserve units in the nation.
