PJs Splash into River Rescue Training
Rescue Reservists from the 920th Rescue Wing at Patrick Air Force Base, Fla. train for water rescue recovery on the Banana River which borders the base to the west. They consistently train on the portion of the river called the Judy Drop Zone. The pararescueman seen here is fast-roping from an HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter piloted by aircrew from the wing's 301st Rescue Squadron. The rescue crews use this technique to board ships at sea when there is a need for a rescue at sea. The Pave Hawks have the ability to refuel while in flight which allows them to travel far distances out in the Ocean where ships set sail. (U.S. Air Force Photo/Ms. Jasmine DeNamur)
