The 920th Rescue Wing was awarded the Air Force Reserve Command Recruiting Service Wing of the Year award for the fiscal year 2019 during an annual recruiting conference, October 24, 2019, in Orlando, Florida.

The award was presented to Lt. Col. Chad Senior on behalf of the 920th RQW wing commander, Col. Kurt Matthews.

“The honor is really a testament to Col. Kurt Matthews and the men and women of the 920th Rescue Wing,” said Senior Master Sgt. Jonathan Galvin, 920th Rescue Wing senior recruiter. “Without their support, our recruiting team would not have been as successful.”

During the last year, the wing has had more than 175 new members, while only having six recruiters. According to Galvin, every new member has to be vetted through many organizations across the wing to include medical and force support.

“Recruiting is a team effort, and it starts with our leadership,” Galvin added.

This is the first year the wing has received the accolade.
