During a 50-hour inspection on an HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter, corrosion was found on the main gear box (MGB). The MGB is the main transmission for the aircraft and has four additional gearboxes attached to it.
920th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron Airmen removed all five transmissions at the same time to better inspect the corrosion on the transmission Nov 10, 2020. The removal and replacement of a MGB is a job that takes a two man team about 80-hours to complete.
