PATRICK SPACE FORCE BASE, Fla. -- The 39th Rescue Squadron air dropped a Search and Recovery Tactical Vehicle from an HC-130J Combat King II aircraft for the first time during an exercise Jan. 27.
The SRTV is a multi-purpose tactical vehicle and is part of the 308th Rescue Squadron’s inventory. The SRTV is intended to support combat search and rescue teams retrieve isolated individuals and can expand the ability to quickly reach further into the austere environments to provide more mobile rescue capabilities.
