Rescue maintainers assigned to the 920th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 920th Rescue Wing, removed spindles from the main rotor head of one of the wing's HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopters scheduled for retirement inside a maintenance hangar here, Jan. 3.

The decision was made to remove and repurpose these spindles in order to expeditiously replace corroded spindles on another Pave Hawk in order to keep it air worthy.

This Pave Hawk, along with one other, is scheduled for retirement to the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group in Arizona later this month, marking the beginning of the wing's conversion to the HH-60W Jolly Green II.
