DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. -- Maj. Amber Osborne took command of the 943d Mission Support Flight during a change of command ceremony here Jan. 12.
The change of command ceremony is a military tradition that formally signifies the transfer of responsibility and authority from one commanding officer to another; symbolized through the passing of a guidon.
Osborne’s achievements include being recognized as a distinguished graduate and honor graduate from multiple training courses, as well as recipient of numerous awards for outstanding performance. Maj Osborne’s assignments have supported a range of commands, including Air Mobility Command, Air Combat Command, Air Force Special Operations Command, and the North American Aerospace Defense Command and First Air Force.
Osborne emphasized the consistency in which the 943d MSF will continue to operate during the transition process.
“To the men and women of the 943rd Mission Support Flight; it is an honor to take command of such an outstanding team. I’m excited to get to know each of you and your families and I look forward to the work we will do together. Together, we will uphold the high standards of our mission and face the challenges ahead with strength, dedication, and the resilience that defines this team," said Maj. Amber Osborne, incoming 943d MSF commander.
The 943d MSF supports military personnel job functions, military equal opportunity, education and training, and manpower.
The 943d Rescue Group is a geographically separated unit of the 920th Rescue Wing; located at Davis-Monthan AFB.
