A government shutdown was avoided yesterday as congress approved a temporary spending bill.

The measure will fund government agencies through December 11. As a result, the 920th Rescue Wing here at Patrick AFB and its geographically-separated units at Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona and Portland, Oregon will continue with the upcoming drill weekend as scheduled.

The wing's other GSU--the 920th Aerospace Medicine Flight at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, has rescheduled its Reserve training weekend due to safety concerns from Hurricane Joaquin.
