10th Air Force commander addresses rescue reservists

Maj. Gen. William Binger, 10th Air Force commander, answered questions, addressed concerns and shared insight with Airmen from the 920th Rescue Wing at the commander's call Sept. 8, 2013.

During the commander's call, Binger and Col. Jeffrey Macrander, 920th commander, presented awards to wing Airmen, including the Distinguished Flying Cross with Valor to Senior Master Sgt. Scott Spangler, 301st Rescue Squadron flight engineer; Meritorious Service Medal to Senior Master Sgt. Stacie Moore, 308th Rescue Squadron first sergeant; and each giving commander's coins newly promoted Staff Sgt. Jennafur Williams, 920th Maintenance Squadron HC-130 integrated avionics guidance and control specialist, who was the first 920thRQW Airman to receive the John Levitow Award since the wing stood up at Patrick in 1992. Binger and Macrander also awarded plaques to community leaders who have shown outstanding support to the wing.

Concluding the commander's call, Binger thanked the Airmen for their hard work and dedication.

"I want to thank you and your families for all you do to support the mission," Binger said to the Airmen.

The 920th RQW is Air Force Reserve Command's only combat search-and-rescue wing. The 10th Air Force includes all fighter, bomber, special operations, rescue, airborne warning and control, combat Air Forces and space operational-training missions, combat air operations battle staff, remotely-piloted aircraft, testing, space, and cyber units in the Air Force Reserve Command.
