CAPE CANAVERAL AIR FORCE STATION, Fla. -- At approximately 9:07 a.m. Sept. 1, 2016, an explosion occurred at launch complex 40 on Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida.
Initial reports indicated that there were no casualties and there has been no threat to public safety. CCAFS Emergency Management is providing the initial on-scene response.
The 920th Rescue Wing launched an HH-60G Pave Hawk overhead to provide aerial oversight of the scene.
Roadblocks will be set up in and around CCAFS, so we ask that you avoid the entrance to the Air Force Station until further notice.
