Trevor Scheerer, 5, (shown) and Finnian Gerts, 7, were named team leaders, for a "rescue mission", given kid-sized Airman Battle Uniforms and pseudo military gear. The pararescuemen formed two teams with Trevor and Finnian leading the way, then boarded two awaiting Zodiac boats, making their rescue mission experience authentic. The missions consisted of traveling up the Banana River from the banks of the rescue squadron by boat about a quarter mile north to "rescue" and medically treat the injured pilots; all the while fighting off "enemy attacks". The boys and their families visited the 920th Rescue Wing, Cocoa Beach, Fla., to learn about combat search and rescue and meet the rescue professionals. The boys are both battling cancer and met while in treatment at Arnold Palmer Hospital in Orlando, Fla. They were treated to a day they would never forget - tours of both rescue aircraft, the King and HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopters, and then finished with a "rescue mission" hosted by the pararescuemen here.
