Airmen earns his wings
PATRICK AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Lt. Col. Kurt Matthews (L) presents the Air Force Achievement Medal to Senior Airman Demetrious Burnett for outstanding achievement in the surveillance of real time intelligence during 67 combat missions and eight sorties in Afghanistan. An Air Force Reserve aviation resource management journeyman with the 920th Rescue Wing, Airman Burnett received his awards for his exceptional service helping to rescue and evacuate survivors of 36 avalanches in Salang Pass in Afghanistan. The 920th Rescue Wing Airmen engages in three of the Air Force Reserve's most cutting-edge and satisfying missions: combat search and rescue; space support; and humanitarian assistance.
