17 WING WINNIPEG, Man., - U.S. Air Force Reserve pararescuman, Senior Airman Brandon Forshaw from the 920th Rescue Wing, Patrick Air Force Base, Fla., attends to a casualty at a scene during the 2010 Grand Prairie search and rescue exercise. From 14-18 May 2010, members of 435 Search and Rescue Squadron, out of Winnipeg Manitoba, 440 Squadron from Yellowknife, along with members of Civil Air Search and Rescue Association (CASARA), the 920th RQW and various other local emergency response groups and organizations in Grande Prairie Alberta, participated in the SAREX. The exercise consisted of searches from the air, parachute jumps by the PJs and SARTechs, casualty air extraction by STARS and ground evacuation by local EMS technicians. The exercise also consisted of precision aircraft landing by the HC-130 Hercules aircraft (both American and Canadian) as well as accuracy cargo drops and parachute accuracy jumps. (photo by/Cpl.
