Rescue Wing Commander thanks community on 9/11

COCOA BEACH, Fla. -- Air Force Reserve Colonel Steve Kirkpatrick, commander of the 920th Rescue Wing, addresses local civic leaders, citizens of and visitors to the Cocoa Beach community and military members during a ceremony honoring military men and women, both past and present from the area Sept. 11 at a local restaurant on Cocoa Beach. The 920th Rescue Wing conducted a Search and Rescue operation involving Pararescuemen parachuting from unit-equipped HC-130P/N aircraft into the ocean and a rescue operation with the unit's HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter which also performed during a air-to-air refueling demonstration with the HC-130P/N. The 920th Rescue Wing will conduct similar capability demonstrations during the Cocoa Beach air show scheduled for October 2-4 at Alan Shepard Park along Highway A1A in.
