A Sound Birthday Bash for Legendary Aviator
SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Air Force Reservists and female aviator, Staff Sgt. Jennifer Drake, 920th Rescue Wing, Patrick Air Force Base, Fla., attended the Women in Aviation International Conference March 13-15 MAR. While there she put her percision honor guard skills into action helping to coordinate a memorable 85th surprise birthday celebration for aviation legend, Brig. Gen. Chuck Yeager (Ret.). Sergeant Drake, also a former Broadway performer, sang Happy Birthday, which she reflected as an unparalleled occasion saying it was the only time I've had to practice that song. General Yeager was a U.S. Air Force noted test pilot who in 1947 became the first pilot, at age 24, to travel faster than the sound in level flight and ascent.
