Crash Course

PATRICK AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. - Air Force Reserve pararescuemen (PJs), from the 920th Rescue Wing, Patrick Air Force Base, Fla., are trained to save lives - anywhere - at any time. In a ground training exercise they hone their skills in car extraction and medical treatment. In the scenario, a four-man PJ team is on alert in Afghanistan when an improvised explosive device leaves two carful of people trapped and injured. Reservists like these PJs, serve on the frontlines providing the Air Force a warfighting capability that is the best in the world. (U.S. Air Force Photo/Kristin Mack)
