The calm before the storm

NEDERLAND, Texas -- Air Force Reserve pararescuemen (PJs) Master Sgt. Chris Seinkner and Senior Master Sgt. Doug Kestranek, members of the 331st Air Expeditionary Group, grab what little rest they can while en route to the Galveston, Texas area Sept. 13 to provide rescue support for those in need after Hurricane Ike. The PJs were part of two aircrews aboard two HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopters deployed from the 920th Rescue Wing at Patrick AFB, Fla. By day's end, they had pulled 17 people from the devastation caused by the lethal hurricane, which claimed more than 30 American lives. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Paul Flipse)
