Encapsulating History

An HH-53 Super Jolly Green Giant helicopter crew and a handful of pararescuemen from the 67th Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Squadron, RAF Woodbridge, train for recovery operations with a mockup of the Apollo space capsule Mar. 4, 1982. The capsule now sits outside the 920th Rescue Wing's pararescue squadron at Patrick AFB, Fla. The 920th is responsible for range-clearing and safety on all launches from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, and was in charge of astronaut recovery and contingency response for all NASA space shuttle flights.
