'Lone Survivor' rescue hero retires

Past and present members of the 943rd Rescue Group watch as Lt. Col. Jeff “Spanky” Peterson retires after 25 years of service at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., Feb. 19. He was an HH-60 pilot for the 305th Rescue Squadron as a traditional Air Force reservist and the Air National Guard/Air Force Reserve’s first rescue operational test pilot at the Test Center located at Tucson International Airport.
