MEDBEACH 2017
A team of Air Force Reserve rescue medics load a simulated patient connected to an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation machine to an Army National Guard UH-60 Black Hawk March 4, 2017 at Patrick Air Force Base, Florida, as part of the 5th annual MEDBEACH joint medical response exercise. This was the first time an ECMO machine, which came with a specialized team from the San Antonio Military Medical Center in Texas, was used at MEDBEACH. It is also the first time the machine has been used aboard a helicopter. (U.S. Air Force photo/Capt Leslie Forshaw)
