301st Assumption of Command
The 920th Operations Group commander passes the 301st Rescue Squadron guidon to the new 301st RQS commander during an assumption of command ceremony March 6, 2021 at Patrick Space Force Base, Florida. The 301st RQS operates the HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopter conducting both peacetime personnel recovery and combat search and rescue missions. The assumption of command ceremony is a military tradition that formally signifies the transfer of responsibility from one commanding officer to another, symbolized through the passing of a guidon.
