39th RQS conducts FARP training
Staff Sgt. Jin Chang, 39th Rescue Squadron loadmaster, pulls a squeegee to manually force fuel remaining in a hose back into an HC-130J Combat King II during Forward Arming and Refueling Point refresher training at Patrick Space Force Base, Florida, Nov. 17, 2022. FARP provides the fuel necessary for helicopter and fixed-wing operations to continue their mission while reducing the vulnerability of forward deployed forces by taking gas from the HC-130J Combat King II aircraft and passing it into another airframe on the ground using a system of hoses.
