A Special Missions Aviator assigned to the 305th Rescue Squadron participates in combat search and rescue training off the coast of California during exercise Distant Fury Stallion/Steel Knight Dec. 6, 2024. The Pave Hawk and the Jolly Green II helicopters carry a specialized crew that includes two pilots and two special mission aviators who operate the hoist and onboard weapons.
