Colonel Glenn Frazier
PATRICK AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. ? Colonel Glenn Frazier, recipient of the Medal of Freedom, the Bronze Star, four Purple Hearts and many, many more awards and recognitions than most, signs his book, ?Hell?s Guest,? for awaiting Reserve Airmen. Colonel Frazier was invited to speak at the 920th Rescue Wing here about his grueling experiences as a Prisoner of War during the Bataan Death March at the start of World War II. Details of the march were lived by men like Colonel Frazier. The men were surrounded by death; beheading, throat-cutting and shooting were common causes of death but deliberate starvation, dehydration, stabbing with bayonet and rifle-butt beatings were also prevalent during the week-long continual march. The 60 mile trek would be like walking from here to Orlando, Fla., in the middle of sweltering August. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Leslie Kraushaar)
