920th RQW Public Affairs

Media Relations

All media queries and requests for interviews must be coordinated through the Public Affairs office. Please email the office at 920RQWPA@us.af.mil

Based at Patrick Space Force Base, Florida, the 920th Rescue Wing is an Air Force Reserve Command combat search and rescue unit comprised of over 2,000 Rescue Airmen.
The wing is a combined arms team enabled by agile combat support capable of multi-lateral assault on a defended point of incident in a highly contested environment. The 920th RQW is the only Air Force Reserve Command wing with a combat search and rescue mission, is responsible for saving over 4,000 lives and is responsible for a demanding and compelling array of missions and maintains a state of readiness to deploy at moment’s notice. Air Force rescue is the only DoD entity specifically organized, trained and equipped to conduct personnel recovery operations into hostile or denied areas as a primary mission.

The unit's other peacetime missions are providing civil search and rescue support for those who are lost or in distress and providing humanitarian and disaster-relief operations.

The Media Relations Section of Public Affairs provides news releases on newsworthy Air Force missions, programs, and activities. It works with the news media to provide interviews, coordinate visits and to respond to queries. We seek every opportunity to tell the Air Force story by reaching the public through local, regional and national news media organizations.

Community Relations

Angel's Wings Archive

The objective of the community relations program is to increase public awareness and understanding of the Air Force and the 920th Rescue Wing's mission. We support surrounding communities in all aspects, ranging from tour requests and speaking engagements to airshow demonstrations and flyovers. Our goal is to foster positive relations with the surrounding communities. For more information, email 920RQWPA@us.af.mil

Aerial Event Requests
Community Relations helps facilitate flyover and static display requests that the 920th Rescue Wing performs in the community; however, the process does not start with this office. To start a request, you must submit a DD Form 2535 online, which can be found at www.airshows.pa.hq.af.mil, and receive approval from the Air Force Aerial Events office at the Pentagon. The 920th RQW can only consider your request after you have approval from the Pentagon. Flyovers are considered for aviation-related and patriotic observances held in conjunction with Armed Forces Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, POW/MIA Day, or Veterans Day (event must be within five days of the actual holiday dates to be considered). There are some exceptions to policies; those not meeting the criteria can possibly be approved one-time only as an Exception-to-Policy event, provided there is sufficient rationale for support. The request process takes approximately 60 days to complete.

Speaker Requests
The Speaker's Bureau gives Air Force people the chance to interact directly with its neighbors in the community, professional organizations, schools, businesses and civic organizations. Our speakers consist of personnel from a wide array of job descriptions. Most organizations request speakers to talk about the Guardian Angels, HH-60G Pave Hawk, HH-60W Jolly Green II helicopter, HC-130J Combat King II aircraft, 920th Rescue Wing mission, Air Force Reserve mission, specific job descriptions or personal experiences in the Air Force. If you would like to schedule a speaker for an event, e-mail a detailed request to
920RQWPA@us.af.mil.

Commander's Action Line

The 920th Rescue Wing maintains a commander's action line. The wing commander encourages its use. Concerns should be addressed at the lowest possible level in the chain of command and elevated as necessary.

Though not required, Action Line users should leave point-of-contact information when submitting an Action Line. This will allow those who are addressing the concern to clarify the information and respond, if necessary. E-mail messages to 920rqwpa@us.af.mil.
